Teschuk, Rosenau, Van Beek Break Records for Bison Women at Stanford Invitational

Published by North Dakota SID on April 3, 2015

STANFORD, Calif. – North Dakota State's Erin Teschuk continued to blaze a trail like no Bison woman before her, racing to a Stanford Invitational title, a new school record and the nation's No. 2 time in the 1500m on Friday evening.

But this time, Teschuk had company as she re-wrote the NDSU record books. Senior Maddie Van Beek broke NDSU's 30-year-old school record in the 5,000 meters by 30 seconds, and junior Sierra Rosenau extended her own Bison best in the javelin.

Three Bison women. Three events. Three school records.

Teschuk crossed the finish line in 4:17.10, defeating professional Emily Lipari – the second-place finisher in the elite section – by almost two seconds. She broke Laura Hermanson's previous NDSU record of 4:19.77 in the 1500m set in 2009.
